Not to far away from average as far as I can tell.

My value of 17 was just cruising also - 4 hour trip doing a consistent 65 mph. I'm lucky to get 15 "driving hard"

My thoughts exactly! My best ever was 17, and thats rounding up. Your truck isn't a 4 cyl is it patty?

I've had to use the screwdriver trick the past two times on my VW. Next time if it happens again I'll try using old oil, never heard of doing that before!

This is the first time where I've EVER been angry that my mouse wouldn't scroll all the way up or down lol.

LMAO if I had found it, I would have.

Count me in if this ever comes to fruition

Your feeling the same thing I felt when I sold my GMC to buy a VW. Thank god my pathy came around like it did, about a year later. Gas milege and speed are all well and good, but you have to have something that can make it over a curb without busting an oil pan open

95 with new thorleys& flowmaster 50 2.5"

The echo off the divider wall could be all thats causing it. When I had a 4" straight pipe on my old GMC 6.5TD it was really quiet (for a straight pipe) up untill the end of the exhaust was pointed torward a mountain side or similar object, then you couldn't hear siht. -

Battery has been in the truck since I bought it, doesn't look new by any means. Has been drawn down to dead twice since I've owned it. I suppose that would make more sense, it wouldn't charge past 69% when I put the charger on it. Just have never heard a starter click like that before, and I remember on my old diesel GMC when the starter started going it was drawing an insane amount of amperage.

Hey all. Couple days ago I went to move my poor neglected truck over to the new house. Dead battery so I jump start it off the g/f's jetta and go. Go to start it the next day and the batteries dead, so I thow my charger on it. Go to start it yesterday (gotta show her some love right?) and she cranked, with out starting, so I crank again and all I get is a rapid clicking noise. Does this mean my starters toast? I didn't have anyone around to help me otherwise I would have tried the hammer trick.

I'll concur that its slow -- they installed it on a 3.0ghz pentium 4 here in the lab, with at least 1gig of ram and it took FOREVER to boot. Methinks I'll have to go full blown linux once XP is obsolete....

I've been running full synth Castrol 10-w30 in both the pathy and VW. Its an "approved" oil for VW's and its just easier for me to buy two 5 liter containers at once CD: Whats the issue with castrol?
