  1. Frount shocks $210...WTF

Rear shocks $350...WTF You should beable to get all 4 for this or less... 20 min max to install your self... or each depending on your skill level...

Swaybar link bush $19 bushings are a pain in the pocket book... you can replace all yourself..

    Swaybar D bush $30

    Panhard rod bush $39

Welding to chasis (where things have worn through) $241...WTF they making you a whole new frame? Whats worn through got some pic's?

    Radius rod bush $70

control arm bushes $371...as in Ball Joints? Like $60 each here for life time warrenty stuff here..

Rear springs $199... could get a set of JGC new in the box with 3" lift like Slick's

Draglink $440... I have not checked on these...

Diff mount suport bar $1139 JY $100 and they pull it....(checked today)

Fitting $847...Fitting is this like KY or something.....

Alignment $55... Same here or $120 for lifetime alignment...

    tottal $4141

Mish go get a second or 3rd opinion.... Do not tell them thats what you are getting 2nd opinions....

We are in Australia and everthing is expensive motoring wise. Though most of the mentioned gear can be aquired cheaper, it will not be much cheaper. The bushing and spring prices are well over the top though. Ball joints are not bushes. Bushes are only a few dollars each, nylathane is dearer, but they are easy to put in, as are the springs.

$440 is Nissans price for a drag link and sounds about right. Going out to the wreckers and finding the required gear will be cheaper also. Having said that, Pathies are not a dime a dozen over here and the price people want for things reflect that. Parts are rare, not common.

Why do you think we cry over here when we see you can get lockers for a few hundred $. We cry because the same locker here is about $1k.

The live axle is a real option and given the price that has been quoted, and the cheapest option to boot. If the live axle option is chosen, then the issues that plague the Nissan front end will never come up again. This in itself saves money period, and will pay for itself in a year if you are partial to going off road.

  2. Mish that is a blatant rip off.

My calmini shocks aren't worth that much!

Your sway bar link bush can be had front coventrys for like 7 dollars and takes about 10 minutes to fit.

I don't see them spending over 2 hours welding on your truck so cant see how they can charge over $200 for welding.

    UCA bushes are not $370!

Tell them where to stick the rear shocks and springs!

@!*% you can have my old rear springs for nothing if you want.

    hahaha panhard rod bush $39

Draglink should be about $200 - $250 for a replacement

Dunno about the support bar but like I said before go to a wreckers.

I can fit all the bushes for you for a cold beer :)

Shocks aren't hard...I have never swapped springs though.

Alignment, WA suspensions will charge you about $35 for that.

Mate they are trying to take you for a ride. It's Pedders, don't believe their slogan of no bull!

As Justin just said. Rip off!

  3. Personally, I see no reason whatsoever for the ignition system to have spontaneously failed when it ran out of gas. I'd pull the output hose from the fuel filter, stick on a longer piece of hose, put a bucket under it and make sure there's fuel pressure still. If not, you know where to look next.

Fuel pumps have a bad habit of dying if you run your tank out of gas. Since fuel cools the pump as it runs (because it's running 100% of the time the engine is running), without any fuel the pump overheats...and it's been running for over 100,000 miles already, hasn't it?

88 makes a very valid point. It does not take much to kill a fuel pump at all.

I did not give the running out of juice a second thought.

    Good job old man.

  4. I have a problem with my 88 pathfinder, obviously or I wouldn't be posting. My pathfinder leaks power steering fluid out of the reservior cap, but oddly it leaks mostly when it is shut off. This problem is leaving me with serious puddles in my driveway, and I really need power steering (33"/12.50"/15" Buckshots aren't helping the problem either) Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanx in advance

    Chas

It could be that you are over filling the res. Do you top it up when it is running or when the engine is off?

  5. Thanks 88. Im gonna make those suckers fit no matter what. Nothing a little fab work wont fix. Oh, thanks for calling me a kid too. Im probably older than you. :P:beer:

You obviously have the lights. Shame.

Can't you take them back for a refund? Surely the seller is to blame for your purchase. He must have told you that they would fit in the first place. :(

I'd be telling him to shove them up his bum and get my money back.

  6. Thanks 88. Im gonna make those suckers fit no matter what. Nothing a little fab work wont fix. Oh, thanks for calling me a kid too. Im probably older than you. :P:beer:

Can't wait to see the end product.

  7. They look good on 88s....

    I say go for it!

    Rami

    You're joking aren't you?

They look good om 88's because they are different lights to what KILLVOX intends on using. 88's lights actually fit.:crazy:

  8. I hope not to raise the heckles of our friend vengeful but I tend to agree with the above.

I do hope vengeful can forgive me for my irreverence toward him. I think he gets annoyed with others being able to have a live axle and he is stuck with his immutable front end.

  9. Someone needs to calm down a bit!    Take a pill V6.  That DEFINITELY doesn't help any.

Teen, in mine, I've had the horn pad sit too low, and rub on the plastic parts of the column, creating a bit of a noise.  Maybe it's something as simple as that.

Otherwise (and it's still a good idea regardless) check your PS fluid level, and crawl underneath, and check for leaks in the steering box.

    YOU TAKE A PILL!

    Richard Cranium! -thnkboutit-

  10. I found the old pic. The company that is selling this assembly is saing that they are for a 95 pathfinder. I thought that some one said a while ago that these were for the Hardbody and not a pathy.

R50, late model HB or Navara if anything.

Do not waste you money on getting the lights you posted up earlier, though they will screw in, they will look out of place.

  11. How would I do that?

I am assuming that what I though it was is the problem? Is it??

There is two ways to do it. Both will mean loosening off the retaining bolts. They are the two bolts under the dash.

    1. Get your knees behind the steering wheel and pull HARD. It may not work but it is better than going the hard way first.

    2. Remove the shaft from the steering column between the column and the steering box. Setup a bottle jack so that it will push the steering column into the cabin. Keep checking for the gap. Get it to about 5mm and it should be fine. If the column does not seem to move as a whole then it is collapsed. I had to repair mine so use this as a guide. It is a pictorial of what I did.

  12. Well from talking to some people this seems to be a common problem and is something that most people just live with.

Unless anyone here has a quick fix for it I see no real reason to get all complicated just to get rid of a little scraping noise.

You may just have to pull the column out a bit and tighten up the retaining bolts. If it goes in too far it can make it harder to turn and for the wheel to find center again.

  13. several of you guys forget...it was rolled. sure, you can sell a prefectly good pathy for anwhere from 7-10,000 $'s...but thats a GOOD pathy. and yeah, i believe they give you what a dealer would pay you for it...so thats why we were expect ALOT lower. so no...7K isnt bad. you wreck and car and the value is gonna plummet. as far as buying it back..eh. she just wants her new lil car and i have enough already.

I thought you only put it on its side. I did not realise that you rolled it.

  14. It sounds like your steering wheel is rubbing on your cowl. Have a look at the gap between your cowl and the back of your steering wheel. If there is no gap, that is the problem. What does it mean? It means your steering column has collapsed or the retaining bolts have come loose enabling it to move forward and thus foul with each other.

  15. Lol Ha ha ha...nossir, I got the one for my path, just that they do need painted..I like my black grill!!

So are you talking about the extra chrome that is on the "inside" of the light towards the grill? Does that look like enough to mess up the install? having never owned that year I would think that there would be enough room for the flex...otherwise bust out the dremel drill!!

I do not know if you are refering to my reply. But if you are I will point out the obvious differance between the HB and Pathfinder lights as shown in the pic above.

The first thing you will notice is that the chrome on the bottom of the light bezzel is deep, as opposed to the Pathfinder light where it is non existant. The second thing you will notice is the curved face where it will meet the grill, as opposed to the Pathfinder that is flat. The third is the angle of the bezzel at the top.

I can not be the only one to notice the differences, for they are so obvious. I am just trying to warn others that may not know that the lights, although you will be able to screw them in, are not Pathfinder, will not look good and will not sit flush to your headlights. Why, because they are HB/Navara.

  16. any z24 owners out there able to tell me which way their ac compressor rotates - clockwise or anticlockwise.

any vg30 people can check as i assume they wouldnt of changed the ac compressor for the two motors.

    heres hoping for clockwise!!!!

They spin clockwise Steve. They all do.
